About CleanVideoText

CleanVideoText is a browser tool for removing burned-in text from video by rebuilding the background. This page explains how we test it, what we will not claim, and where the limits are.

Updated · October 28, 2026

What we do

The product targets text that is part of the picture: hardcoded subtitles, open captions, handles, timestamps, and similar overlays. It is not a subtitle-track editor and it does not crop or blur the frame to hide a mistake.

The workflow keeps the original audio, duration, and frame size, then re-encodes an MP4. The background behind the text is rebuilt frame by frame, so the result depends on what was behind the words.

How we test

  • We confirm whether the text is burned in or a soft subtitle track before recommending AI.
  • We test the hardest five seconds first, especially text over faces, hands, or fine product detail.
  • We check the first and last frame of a caption for ghosts, not just the middle.
  • We compare audio, duration, and frame size against the source after export.
  • We publish the limits that matter: 200 MB, 10 minutes, one whole uploaded clip, and no sub-range rendering yet.

What we will not claim

  • We do not claim a clean result on every background or every moving subject.
  • We do not invent ratings, customer counts, or before/after results.
  • We do not support removing a third-party watermark, credit, or attribution mark for redistribution.
  • We do not promise background processing or email delivery; live jobs currently need the tab to stay open.

Editorial standards

Guides are written for people editing their own footage. We separate what is verifiable from what is an estimate, date the articles, and link to the product page only when it is relevant to the task.

When a route is a worse fit, we say so. The remux route for soft subtitles, the crop route for expendable framing, and manual cleanup for the hardest frames are all legitimate answers.

How the service works

The sample demo runs in the browser and does not upload your file. Live rendering runs on our processing provider. Accounts, credit balances, checkout, and retention are live for every job.

Ask AI

Not sure which route fits? Ask your AI.

A ready-made question about burned-in subtitles, soft tracks, and the trade-offs opens in a new chat.

The question is prefilled where the AI supports it. If not, it is copied to your clipboard — paste and send.
