How do I remove a watermark from a video?

If the watermark is already in the picture and you do not have the original project, upload an MP4 or MOV, choose a 5–90 second part, and use Auto or Select area. The tool rebuilds the covered background instead of cropping or adding a blur bar. Complex backgrounds, semi-transparent marks, and moving marks can leave traces, so test the hardest five seconds first.

A watermark here means text, a logo, or a translucent mark that is part of the picture. If it disappears when you turn off subtitles or change players, it is only shown by the player and does not need this tool.

If the original project is still available, look for a clean export or remove your own watermark and export again. An editor’s trial watermark may need a licensed export. Re-exporting avoids having to guess what sits behind the mark.

If only the finished video remains and you are allowed to change it, use the tool. Small marks over simple backgrounds are easier; a large mark across a face, hand, or fast movement can leave a soft patch, a remaining outline, or a change in texture. This is an online video watermark remover for files you upload, not a link downloader for TikTok, Instagram, or other platforms.

Upload, select, and check the result

Start with the hardest five seconds. A short test helps you judge the repair before you spend credits on more footage.

  1. 1.

    Upload your MP4 or MOV

Choose a file up to 200 MB and 10 minutes long. Select a 5–90 second part inside the tool; the download will contain that part only. Keep a copy of your original.

  2. 2.

    Choose what should be cleaned

Auto scans the frame for text and marks. Select area rebuilds everything inside your fixed boxes. Keep boxes close to the watermark and leave captions, faces, and product details outside them when possible.

  3. 3.

    Review, then download

Check the beginning, middle, and end, including moments when the background changes. Look for missed marks, flicker, and softened detail. Download the MP4 and check the selected part’s audio and timing before publishing.

Choose a mode for the mark in your video

Position and background matter as much as the watermark itself. A fixed box stays in the same place throughout the selected part.

A fixed text watermark in a corner

For a small mark over sky, a wall, or another simple background, keep the selection close to the letters. A larger box asks the tool to rebuild more of the shot.

Compare straight edges near the mark. Look for remaining letters, halos, or a patch that shifts as the camera moves.

A semi-transparent mark over a changing background

A translucent watermark blends with the scene underneath it. Include its visible shadow or glow in the selected area, then test the moment where the background has the most detail.

Pause on the watermark’s edges and play the sequence. A still frame alone can miss flicker or texture that changes over time.

A watermark over a face, hand, or fine texture

Covered facial features, fingers, and fabric patterns may not rebuild accurately. If those details must stay exact, use a clean source or plan a manual repair.

Compare the subject’s shape and movement, not only whether the watermark is gone. Stop if the repair changes a detail you need to preserve.

When a clean source is the better option

Watermark removal estimates what could sit behind the mark; it cannot recover a guaranteed copy of the hidden picture. Fast motion, heavy compression, large overlays, and detailed backgrounds can leave visible repairs.

If a crop can remove an unimportant edge, it may be quicker. A cover can work when hiding the area is acceptable. When a face or product detail must remain exact, return to the project or ask the rights holder for a clean file.

What can I remove for free?

The fixed browser sample is a free text-cleanup demo without an account. To process your own video, sign in with Google: each new account receives 30 credits once, with no card required for the trial. Exports do not add a CleanVideoText watermark.

Questions before you remove a video watermark

Q: My editor added a watermark after export. What should I try first?

Check the original project and the editor’s export options first. A trial or premium-effect watermark may need a licensed export or removal of that effect. If only a finished file remains, use a short repair test only when you have permission to change the mark.

Q: Can I remove a watermark without blurring or cropping the video?

You can try rebuilding the covered area. CleanVideoText does not add a blur bar or crop to hide the mark, but the repair can still look soft or leave visible traces. Check fine detail and motion before sharing.

Q: Can it remove a semi-transparent watermark?

You can test it, but a clean result is not guaranteed. A translucent mark mixes with the background, and its outline or shadow can remain. Test the part with the most detailed background before processing more.

Q: What if the watermark moves around the video?

Try Auto and review the entire selected part. Select area uses fixed boxes that do not follow a moving watermark. Movement across faces or detailed backgrounds can produce missed marks or flicker.

Q: Can I remove only the watermark and keep my subtitles?

Use Select area when the watermark and subtitles occupy separate regions. Keep the subtitles outside the box. Everything inside a box is rebuilt, so overlapping text and marks cannot be separated reliably.

Q: Can I remove a watermark from a full video for free?

Only if the selected part fits the one-time free balance. A new account’s 30 credits cover up to 30 seconds in Auto or 15 seconds in Select area. Each cleanup is 5–90 seconds; longer content needs separate parts and enough credits.

Q: Does this video watermark remover work with MP4, MOV, and iPhone clips?

MP4 and MOV files up to 200 MB and 10 minutes are accepted. A phone browser can upload a local file; use a computer if precise boxes or detailed review are difficult on the small screen. Check the downloaded part’s audio and timing, especially for phone footage.

Q: Can I paste a TikTok link instead of uploading a file?

No. This tool processes local video files and does not download videos from links. Upload a saved file you have permission to edit. If your draft or original export is available, start there.

Q: How long will processing take, and can I close the page?

Time depends on the selected part, video quality, and demand. After cleaning starts, you can close the page and collect the finished clip from History. There is no email notification yet.

Q: What should I do if a watermark or a soft patch remains?

Review the selection and test a shorter difficult part. A fixed box may help when Auto misses a mark, but it also rebuilds background details inside the box. If an important feature changes, use a clean source or manual repair instead of repeatedly processing the same area.

Q: What happens to the video I upload?

Your own file is uploaded for the cleanup you request; the fixed browser sample does not upload your file. The Privacy Policy explains retention and deletion. Keep a local copy of your original and download results you want to keep.

Q: Can I remove a watermark from someone else’s footage?

Only edit footage and marks you own or have permission to change. Removing another creator’s watermark, credit, or attribution to redistribute their work is not an accepted use. Request a clean, licensed file from the rights holder instead.

Q: Can I remove TikTok, Instagram, or Gemini watermarks?

You can try a mark on footage you own, such as your own handle, when you have permission to change it. Another creator’s platform watermark, or a TikTok or Instagram logo used for reposting, is not supported. Visible AI provenance marks, including Gemini and Veo watermarks, are also outside the supported use.
